Power Analysis Signal-to-Noise: Outage Events

Evaluating a power analyzer data set this morning; the site power appears to be switched (turned off each night, turned on each morning)

OutagesIt’s pretty clear that this is a local outage, but as an evaluator, I need to document every event “just in case” – the result is a very lengthy report (each outage generates 4-5 event graphs, start of outage, end of outage, full outage, and any associated transients) with summary graphs that are pretty messy (lots of events associated with these outages, clouding any utility or facility events)

It’s always best practice to monitor upstream of a local switch, so that the power quality of the facility / utility can be assessed without having to weed out scores of locally generated events.
